Boost Infants' Cognitive Abilities By Exposing Them To Foreign Languages

If you want your children to be a problem solver, start teaching them an additional language as early as 7 months.

"Science indicates that babies’ brains are the best learning machines ever created, and that infants’ learning is time-sensitive. Their brains will never be better at learning a second language than they are between 0 and 3 years of age."

From the research, whether you are rich or not, it is NOT going to affect your infant's ability to learn a foreign language.

High Serotonin Levels In SIDS Infants Found

In this modern age, the medical experts have no clue about the cause of the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).
Recently, a team of researchers from the Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School, discovered that "infants who died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) had high levels of serotonin" in their blood samples.

"In previous studies, the researchers reported multiple serotonin-related brain abnormalities in SIDS cases, including a decrease in serotonin in regions involved in breathing, heart rate patterns, blood pressure, temperature regulation, and arousal during sleep."

Thus, this new discovery could help to separate SIDS from other causes of sleep-related, unexpected infant death.

Caffeine Helps Premmies To Breathe Easier

I've never thought that caffeine could solve the breathing difficulty of premature babies.

The doctors at the Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne gave a regular dose of caffeine to half of 140 premature babies when they were born.

According to Professor Lex Doyle, the lead author of the study, he found that "of the children who had caffeine as babies, there were half as many with concerning levels of lung function when they were 11".

Should You Put A Blanket In The Crib With A Baby

It was sad to hear a 7-month old infant suffocated and died during sleep.

How could this tragedy happen? All because of a blanket.

"I went in to get him from his crib, opened the door, and noticed he was on his stomach with his beloved blanket on his head. I yanked it off, touched his back, and felt that he was ice cold...his face and chest were completely purple on one side. His lips blue. His eyes closed." Source

So, parents please take this seriously as there is a risk of laying babies with their blankets.

Not only that, you should NOT put any soft objects such as stuffed toys, quilts, or pillows as they may suffocate your children.
